THE VORTEX® SPIRAL CLEAN PULLEY

The Vortex® Spiral Clean Pulley is an innovative concept in self-cleaning pulley design, invented by Douglas and made in the United States. The US Patent and Trademark office awarded two patents on the innovative Vortex® Spiral Clean Pulley, Patent Numbers 10,124,964 B2 Patent & D838428, were issued to Douglas Manufacturing in November 2018 and January 2019.

The Vortex® is made for harsh operating conditions and for those applications where uninterrupted operation and increased service life are requirements. It is smoother running and provides better sealing at critical transfer points to help keep noise levels down and help keep material on the belt.

Douglas Manufacturing offers professionally designed and assembled conveyor pulley assemblies and drives that help to eliminate field assembly errors and reduce installation time and expense.

THE VORTEX® SPIRAL CLEAN PULLEY FEATURES:

  • Abrasion Resistant (AR) center and edge support is standard. AR is made of stronger steel to handle harsher conditions, resulting in a longer life by as much as 50% over standard contact bars.
  • Smoother running, reduced vibration, and improved sealing at transfer points prevents workers from shoveling material off the ground and back on, resulting in less product loss, reduced labor hours, and a clean transfer point. This also means less noise, making it easier to comply with noise ordinances.
  • The Spiral Pulley possesses more efficient self-cleaning ability than standard wing pulleys.
  • The Spiral Pulley design aids belt tracking and moves the belt gently toward the middle of the pulley.
  • The unique continuous flight design with continuous welds prevents wing folding.
  • Patented plow design forces tramp material to the edge of the spiral pulley and discharges it straight down on the ground away from your critical areas, as opposed to competitors’ products that shoot it all over the place.
  • Standard XT style bushings.
